The purpose for the Women’s group is to provide a safe and supportive environment for Female Veterans to learn realistic skill building activities focused on developing healthy self-esteem and increase self-worth.
Why focus on self-esteem?
Overall self-esteem is highly correlated to overall life satisfaction. Low self-esteem, or self-dislike, contributes to depression, anxiety, stress Symptoms, psychosomatic symptoms (i.e. headaches, insomnia, fatigue, etc.), entering into unhealthy relationships, alcohol/drug abuse, and social difficulties.
Who would be interested?
Any Female Veteran who finds themselves experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, feeling self-defeated, and those struggling with self-worth issues.
Where are the groups held?
Groups will be held at a private location disclosed only to those in the group. The site will be centrally located with access to public transportation.
When are groups?
Groups will be held on a weekly basis, the exact day and time will be discussed when you coordinate with our staff.
