ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- One of the co-founders of CDS Monarch in Rochester passed away Friday morning.
The organization that has helped those with developmental disabilities for decades confirmed that Phyllis Wolf has died.
Phyllis Wolf and her husband, Lewis, founded CDS Monarch in 1977 on the common notion that all parents wanted to give their developmentally disabled children the best opportunities to have a fulfilling life.
She served on the board of directors for 35 years. The organization has grown from a group of parents meeting in homes. It now serves more than 1,700 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at the Pittsford Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.
