It was just last July when the Nucor House opened its doors to veterans in need.

Warrior Salute and CDS Monarch partnered to make the home in Penfield a reality, and now, one of the first vets to move in is graduating.

"It's pretty exciting. Pretty much all the work that I have done over the last eight months has been leading up to this moment right now," said Jon Stanley. 

And right now Jon Stanley can confidently say he has beaten the odds. He served in the Navy in both Iraq and Afghanistan and when he came home, he battled PTSD.

"It was very difficult. Just being outside of a combat theater and coming back to stateside. It's really hard to turn that switch off," said Stanley. 

The Nucor House is designed for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. The people at CDS Monarch say it's a way for them to give back.
