CDS Monarch, Inc. One of Four Nonprofits Competing in August for $25,000 in Foundation’s Aprons in Action Program; Winner to Compete for Additional $250,000 in Contest Finale

(Rochester, N.Y.) – Aug. 1, 2012 – CDS Monarch, Inc. in Rochester, N.Y. is enlisting area residents to help the organization win a $25,000 The Home Depot gift card by voting daily throughout August in The Home Depot Foundation’s second annual Aprons in Action Facebook contest. Voting begins Aug. 1, 2012 and runs through Aug. 31, 2012 at www.facebook.com/homedepotfoundation. If CDS Monarch receives the most votes during the month they will win the $25,000 prize to help fund necessary remodeling projects at The Nucor House, a residence for Veterans in the Warrior Salute™ program, and will have the opportunity to compete for the grand prize of $250,000 at the end of the year-long program.

In the August round of the competition, CDS Monarch is competing against three other veterans-focused organizations across the country including Marine Corps League in Pocatello, Idaho, Lone Star Veterans Association in Houston and HandsOn Bay Area in San Francisco. The runner-up organizations will receive $5,000 in The Home Depot gift cards.

“If we win the $25,000 from The Home Depot we would be able to make The Nucor House an even better place for our veterans to live. So help us make a difference by voting every day on Facebook, and tell everyone you know to do the same!” said Sankar Sewnauth, president/CEO of CDS Monarch.

The organization that receives the most votes will win the $250,000 grand prize from The Home Depot Foundation and the organizations that earn the second and third most votes will win $150,000 and $100,000, respectively.
