April 2, 2012 – Webster, N.Y. – CDS Monarch purchased a home in Penfield, which will soon become “The Nucor House”, a transitional home for Veterans who are diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder while enrolled in their Warrior Salute Program. The home is named after a major benefactor, Nucor Corporation, who helped make this dream a reality for our military heroes.

Demo inside the house has begun and remodeling is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, and once complete, it will be opened as a 14-bed home for CDS Monarch’s Warrior Salute participants.

“We are very excited to be able to offer a home to our Warrior Salute veterans where they will have support from their comrades and staff 24/7,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, President/CEO of CDS Monarch, Inc. “It is so important for Warrior Salute to have the support of the local community to meet the needs of our injured Veterans. They gave so much for our freedom, and now it is our turn to repay them, and offering them a comfortable home to live in is just one way we can do that.”

Support is needed for Warrior Salute Veterans to have a successful transition to independent, healthy, and successful lives. Much more than just a program or an apartment is needed - a home, where goals are met together, with the companionship and support of peers and twenty-four hour care, will provide the ideal setting for consistent clinical treatment. With support from our community, the dream of a residential program can become a reality.

CDS Monarch is looking for support for this project through donations of time, materials, financial gifts, or a combination of the three to help provide safe, comfortable, and high quality housing for injured Veterans. The home was purchased from a major gift from Nucor Corporation along other community donors who supported The Wolf Foundation. The project is already beginning to gain momentum with financial gifts and in-kind support from The Home Depot Foundation & Ryan Plumbing, Heating & Fire Protection LLC.
